About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-focused Junior Data Engineer to join our team remotely from Germany. This full-time position is designed for entry-level candidates passionate about data, eager to address technical challenges, and comfortable collaborating across diverse teams within a completely remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in constructing, maintaining, and refining data pipelines as well as ETL/ELT workflows.
- Gather, transform, and integrate data from various internal and external sources.
- Support the upkeep and enhancement of data warehouses and platforms.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analytical tasks.
- Continuously monitor data pipelines and resolve any data quality or processing problems.
- Work closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and other collaborators.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, availability, and dependability.
- Document data workflows, processes, and technical implementations comprehensively.
- Assist in establishing data quality checks and monitoring mechanisms.
- Stay informed on contemporary data engineering tools, trends, and best practices.
Candidate Requirements
- Open to entry-level and junior applicants.
- Possess between zero to three or more years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, analytics, or closely related fields, including internships.
- Basic proficiency with SQL and relational database systems.
- Familiar with Python or another programming language.
- Understand ETL/ELT principles and data pipeline creation.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud considered advantageous.
- Experience with data warehouses, databases, or visualization tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical mindset with effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and eagerness to learn continuously.
- Able to collaborate effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Must be located in Germany with legal authorization for full-time work.
- Capable of performing efficiently in a remote work setup.
