Junior Business Controller (m/w/d)

About the Role

Join Hermes Group in Hamburg as an integral member of the Operations Controlling Central team. You will maintain a comprehensive oversight of operational process segments, particularly focusing on transport within long-distance routes and logistic centers. This role involves managing essential controlling processes including monthly closures and budget planning, supporting business units proactively as a strategic partner to help achieve their objectives. Collaboration with the Sales Controlling team ensures a cohesive insight into financial data to enhance profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle controlling processes related to transport operations.
• Perform continuous deviation analyses and compile reports to identify potential improvements.
• Drive forecasting and planning activities, fostering forward-looking financial evaluations.
• Participate in projects and develop business cases supporting managerial decisions.
• Support the Center of Excellence with expertise to develop new processes and controlling instruments.

Candidate Profile

• Completed studies with a focus on business administration or equivalent qualifications.
• Several years of professional experience in controlling, logistics sector experience is an advantage.
• Experience as a business partner advising operational management on controlling matters.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and numerical skills.
• Capable of interpreting complex data and converting analyses into actionable measures.
• Confident communication across various organizational levels and stakeholders.
• Team-oriented with assertiveness and proactive initiative.
• Proficiency in MS Office and BI tools such as SAP BO or Tableau.
