Job description
Overview
The Food and Beverage Group is expanding its IT team and seeking a dedicated IT Specialist to manage and support the daily technological operations across offices and multiple sites. This role entails oversight of IT infrastructure, user assistance, issue resolution, system access management, and ensuring that hardware, software, networks, and business systems are secure, operational, and aligned with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for internal IT support inquiries, including helpdesk functions, troubleshooting, and escalation.
- Set up, configure, and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals for employees.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls across platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
- Quickly diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems to reduce downtime.
- Oversee network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi access points to ensure optimal performance.
- Guarantee stable internet and VPN connectivity for all personnel.
- Maintain physical and cloud-based servers, ensuring backups are regularly performed and tested.
- Implement and enforce IT security protocols including antivirus software deployment, patch management, and data protection measures.
- Monitor for potential security threats and react promptly to incidents.
- Ensure that all software licenses are valid and adhere to compliance requirements.
- Manage software updates and deployment of internal IT tools.
- Document IT procedures, asset inventories, and system configurations accurately.
- Identify areas to enhance IT efficiency and reduce operational barriers for staff.
- Assist with the implementation of new tools, systems, and infrastructure enhancements.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines is preferred.
- Basic understanding of hardware, software, printers, networking, Microsoft 365, and user support workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with eagerness to learn and a customer-focused approach.
- Effective communication and organizational capabilities.
- Internship experience, academic projects, or entry-level IT support knowledge is advantageous but not mandatory.
