Role Overview
The IT Service Continuity (Disaster Recovery) Manager is tasked with overseeing and advancing the IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) and Disaster Recovery (DR) framework across all Endeavour Group brands. This role ensures technological services are robust against major disruptions and can be promptly restored to maintain business operations, protect customer trust, and safeguard revenue. The position involves designing, testing, maintaining DR plans, and enhancing the resilience of IT services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and document comprehensive recovery procedures for IT disruptions.
- Maintain IT service continuity strategies aligned with overarching business continuity plans.
- Critically assess existing architectures to improve recovery readiness and drive the maturity of ITSCM and DR practices from reactive to proactive resilience.
- Implement a service-tiering methodology categorizing IT services by criticality with defined Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) to establish restoration priorities.
- Facilitate cross-departmental workshops to map system dependencies and recovery capabilities.
- Identify DR risks and propose mitigation strategies to reduce organizational impact.
- Design and conduct disaster recovery simulations to train technical teams and prepare for actual incidents.
- Provide incident and crisis management leadership during outages to facilitate swift service restoration.
- Engage with stakeholders across levels to promote the importance of disaster recovery and build strong collaborative relationships.
- Manage recovery strategies across complex infrastructure including multi-location, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Maintain technical knowledge of current enterprise technologies, including Cloud, hybrid infrastructure, enterprise networking, and end-user computing.
- Evaluate third-party providers’ recovery capabilities ensuring alignment with company recovery objectives.
- Ensure ITSCM aligns with governance, industry standards, and compliance requirements, and act as primary liaison for continuity-related audits.
- Lead and mentor a small team of Disaster Recovery coordinators, fostering professional growth and high performance.
- Conduct post-disaster recovery test reviews to identify improvements and update plans accordingly.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields; a master's degree is advantageous.
- At least 10 years overall experience, including over 5 years in IT Service Continuity Management or related Disaster Recovery / Major Incident roles within large-scale enterprises.
- Thorough understanding of ITSCM methodologies and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to perform under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
- High attention to detail ensuring accuracy of continuity processes.
- Experience working in business or customer-facing roles in enterprises of similar scale.
- Beneficial certifications include ITIL, Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Proven experience in vendor and service integrator environments and strong relationship management skills.
