For the IP Infrastructure department in Munich, the company is looking for an IP Paralegal (m/w/d) starting as soon as possible. In this role, you will help the intellectual property team manage and protect a global portfolio covering patents, trademarks, and designs. You will also contribute to improving the IP management system and refining internal IP processes.
Your tasks
- Work together with the team in a shared-pool setup and take joint responsibility for day-to-day deliverables and their timely completion.
- Handle the filing, renewal, and defense of patents, trademarks, and designs across international jurisdictions.
- Prepare and submit official filings such as powers of attorney, FFL documents, new filings and follow-up filings at national and international level, as well as oppositions.
- Maintain and update the IP database and monitor deadlines for the full portfolio.
- Process invention disclosures formally, including inventor remuneration and incentive models.
- Manage regular communication with external law firms, patent offices, and inventors in Germany and abroad.
- Contribute to the development of the IP management system, including the use of AI-supported tools to automate repetitive work.
- Support existing IP processes and workflows administratively and help evaluate suitable AI solutions for decision-making purposes.
Your profile
You should have completed training as a certified patent paralegal (Patentanwaltsfachangestellter m/w/d). Several years of professional experience in industrial property law are expected, ideally gained in an international setting, in an industrial IP department, or in a law firm. Strong command of IP management systems, preferably eFiLiA by Interasco, together with MS Office, is important. Experience with IP software enhancement and process digitization is required, and familiarity with AI-based tools in the IP environment is considered an advantage.
Very good written and spoken German and English skills are necessary. The role also calls for a structured, independent, and reliable working style, along with resilience under pressure and flexibility. You should be open to new ideas, willing to question established ways of thinking, and comfortable working in a team with clear, positive communication.
