Integration Architect - IS Clinical Services

Role Overview

The Integration Architect coordinates the design, validation, implementation, optimization, and system upgrades for Millennium solutions. This role collaborates with multiple stakeholders throughout project lifecycles and ongoing production support of the Millennium Electronic Health Record (EHR). As a vital member of the project leadership team, the Integration Architect participates in scope definition, process analysis, design, development, testing, training, and delivery of business outcomes. Additionally, the role supports application and workflow integration design decisions, manages domain strategies, code and change management, issue resolution, escalation, and system optimization. The Architect also leads the Cerner application team and mentors associates.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee code management including tracking, installation, and validation coordination of all content and Millennium release packages. Develop upgrade strategies and support project management for Millennium system upgrades. Monitor solution changes (CRs) for implemented code.
• Facilitate change management by assisting with review and approval processes for all Cerner Millennium system change requests. Ensure effective change control procedures such as non-production validation, test plans with rollback steps, and maintenance of change control windows. Devise strategies to optimize maintenance updates.
• Understand and assist with domain strategy development, including planning timelines and managing technical dependencies for Cerner Millennium projects. Coordinate domain refresh cycles and decommissioning with solution resources.
• Manage LightsOn processes by reviewing Millennium system checks and ensuring compliance across all solution areas, particularly for broad or critical system impacts.
• Investigate and resolve stability and performance issues such as long-running timers, recurring provider problems, and application crashes.
• Serve as an escalation point for domain or cross-solution issues, liaising with Clinical Workforce Experience (CWx) and local technical teams to comprehend infrastructure impacts on Cerner Millennium.
• Monitor open service records with EHR support teams, ensuring prompt communication and resolution, and escalations as appropriate.
• Oversee operational job monitoring to verify scheduled execution, and organize operational reviews during planned downtime to minimize business disruption.
• Provide training by reviewing Citrix session recordings for the team as needed.
• Maintain situational awareness by reviewing Millennium Flashes and communicating updates internally.
• Assist in assuring testing activities are comprehensive and effective for ongoing production system modifications and impactful projects.

Education and Experience Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Information Technology, Business, Health Information Management, or a related healthcare field from an accredited institution, or equivalent professional experience.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in information services or a related discipline.
• Healthcare experience is favored, and some positions might require expertise in specialized areas such as laboratory, pharmacy, financials, or materials management.
