Role Overview
As an Insurance Coordinator situated in the Abu Dhabi clinic, you will serve as an essential bridge connecting DISC’s clinical team, patients, and insurance companies. Your responsibilities encompass managing the entire insurance claims process, including direct billing and reimbursement documentation, while assisting patients with inquiries regarding claims, eligibility, benefits covered, and approval statuses.
Responsibilities
- Submit insurance claims and pre-authorization requests accurately and punctually
- Handle billing processes for patient services related to insurance
- Confirm eligibility and coverage details, ensuring clear communication with both staff and patients
- Manage payments from insurance carriers and resolve any payment discrepancies
- Provide training to front desk and reception personnel on insurance protocols and direct billing procedures
- Address patient questions and concerns about claims, coverage, and approvals, resolving complaints professionally
Qualifications
- At least three years of experience as an Insurance Coordinator within Abu Dhabi
- In-depth knowledge of CPT and ICD coding systems alongside medical terminology
- Detail-oriented and data-driven mindset capable of multitasking under pressure
- Self-motivated and organized with strong prioritization skills to meet deadlines
- Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
Technical Skills Required
- 3+ years experience coordinating insurance in Abu Dhabi healthcare sector
- Comprehensive understanding of CPT and ICD codes plus medical terminology
- Strong organizational capabilities and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent English language communication skills
- Familiarity with UAE insurance direct billing platforms
- CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification
Preferred Skills
- Experience providing training to front-of-house or reception teams regarding insurance procedures
- Exposure to regulatory audits and inspections under ADHICS, JAWDA, or similar DOH frameworks
