Industrial Cleaner

Role overview

FCC Environment is hiring an Industrial Cleaner for its Energy from Waste facility in Kidderminster. In this position, you will help keep the site clean, safe, and operating to a high standard, working under the guidance of the Operations Engineer or another nominated deputy. You will handle a variety of industrial cleaning tasks and may also support the Maintenance team when needed.

This is a full-time role based on five working days each week.

Key duties

• Perform industrial and general cleaning across process areas and external parts of the site.
• Maintain strong housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
• Clean process equipment according to scheduled requirements or when needed.
• Use industrial cleaning machinery and equipment safely and correctly.
• Manage cleaning materials and waste in line with site procedures.
• Keep clear and accurate records of completed cleaning work.
• Support compliance with site permits/consents and safety standards.
• Help strengthen the site's health, safety, and environmental practices.
• Report accidents, near misses, hazards, or unsafe behaviour promptly.
• Take on other reasonable tasks as assigned by management.

What the employer is looking for

The ideal candidate will already have cleaning experience in a process or heavy industrial setting and be comfortable using industrial cleaning equipment. Experience in the waste sector would be an advantage. Strong awareness of health and safety, practical communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are important. A proactive mindset and close attention to detail are also key.

Compensation and working pattern

The pay rate is £12.71 per hour. The role requires 45 hours each week, Monday to Friday. Weekend or bank holiday overtime may be needed depending on business requirements. The workplace location is EnviRecover EFW, DY10 4JD.
