Job Summary
The Hostess serves as the first point of contact by warmly welcoming guests, offering assistance with seating and handling requests to ensure an inviting atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to operational standards and procedures within the department.
- Support supervisors and team leaders by promoting best practices, seeking continuous improvements, and communicating updates to management.
- Maintain financial accuracy by verifying correctness of invoices, guest checks, and related documents.
- Greet guests upon arrival and bid them farewell courteously and in line with company standards.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to guest needs and requests.
- Keep the reservation book meticulously updated and organized.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the workstation and uphold personal hygiene at all times.
- Escort guests to tables or other designated areas when required.
- Provide guests with accurate information about the restaurant and broader resort amenities.
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally following established guidelines.
- Ensure personal appearance and uniform meet company standards.
- Stay attentive and proactive to guest requirements.
- Remain readily available in assigned area to assist guests.
- Engage with guests to assess team performance and identify improvement opportunities while aiming to exceed guest expectations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, peers, and food and beverage management to deliver seamless service.
- Complete all assigned duties before ending shift only after authorization from a superior.
- Undertake any other responsibilities delegated by the manager within the scope of duty.
Skills, Experience, and Educational Requirements
- Ability to read and write English; knowledge of a third language is advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities.
- Comfortable working calmly under pressure.
- Strong memory and organizational skills.
- Basic arithmetic skills for handling cash and POS transactions with precision.
- Positive attitude, cooperation, and eagerness to learn.
