Role Overview
We are excited to invite applications for a permanent position of Highways Maintenance Operative based at our Leek Depot (ST13 7AB), serving the Staffordshire area. This role involves on-site work including highway patching, kerbing, ironwork replacement, and drainage upkeep conducted across various locations in Stafford.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out highway repairs such as carriageway and footway patching, kerb installation and repair, replacing ironworks, and maintaining drainage systems.
- Participate in pre-work briefings to receive detailed guidance and instructions, including operation of plant equipment and vehicles requiring both general and specialized skills.
- Engage in summer and winter 24-hour standby rotations covering incident responses, winter maintenance tasks like gritting and snow clearing.
- Manage allocation and monitor time and resources in line with the allocation system operational at the site.
- Maintain accurate records including paperwork and communication with Amey colleagues, subcontractors, emergency services, police, clients, and customers.

Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience related to road and street works is essential.
- Possession of a full valid UK driving license is required.
- Holding a Class 2 HGV license is considered advantageous but not mandatory.
