Position Overview
Oceania is seeking compassionate and committed Healthcare Assistants to join multiple teams across their residential care villages in the Upper Hutt region. This part-time, on-site role offers opportunities for both casual and scheduled work to those passionate about supporting older adults to lead dignified, comfortable, and independent lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personal care that respects residents' dignity, privacy, and comfort.
- Assist residents with daily necessities such as hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and hydration.
- Monitor residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing, raising concerns when needed.
- Foster warm and respectful relationships with residents and their families or whānau.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment promoting wellbeing and autonomy.
- Adhere to individualized care plans and collaborate closely with Registered Nurses to ensure consistent, quality care.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with residents, families, and team members.
- Uphold health, safety, and infection control practices to protect all individuals.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in a Healthcare Assistant or similar caregiving role.
- A caring, patient, and respectful approach to supporting older adults.
- Strong communication abilities and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Dedication to safety, dignity, and person-centered care.
- Flexibility to work variable shifts including weekends and nights.
