Healthcare Assistant

Position Overview

Oceania is seeking compassionate and committed Healthcare Assistants to join multiple teams across their residential care villages in the Upper Hutt region. This part-time, on-site role offers opportunities for both casual and scheduled work to those passionate about supporting older adults to lead dignified, comfortable, and independent lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver personal care that respects residents' dignity, privacy, and comfort.
• Assist residents with daily necessities such as hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and hydration.
• Monitor residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing, raising concerns when needed.
• Foster warm and respectful relationships with residents and their families or whānau.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment promoting wellbeing and autonomy.
• Adhere to individualized care plans and collaborate closely with Registered Nurses to ensure consistent, quality care.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with residents, families, and team members.
• Uphold health, safety, and infection control practices to protect all individuals.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in a Healthcare Assistant or similar caregiving role.
• A caring, patient, and respectful approach to supporting older adults.
• Strong communication abilities and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
• Dedication to safety, dignity, and person-centered care.
• Flexibility to work variable shifts including weekends and nights.
