Role Overview

The Head of Purchasing position is a full-time, on-site role located in Mumbai. This leader is responsible for overseeing the entire procurement function including supplier selection, negotiation, order management, and contract handling related to garment accessories and associated materials. Key tasks involve formulating and executing procurement strategies, monitoring stock levels, and partnering closely with production, quality, and supply chain units to ensure timely and cost-efficient purchasing.

Day-to-day duties encompass assessing market trends, measuring supplier performance, streamlining purchasing workflows, and ensuring adherence to company policies and industry norms. Additionally, the role includes mentoring the purchasing team, leading cost-saving initiatives, and fostering sustainable vendor partnerships aligned with RCBC’s growth and quality goals.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of purchasing operations including requisition handling, order placement, and vendor evaluation.
• Experience in supplier negotiations encompassing pricing, contract term discussions, and management of long-term relationships.
• Proficiency in procurement and supply chain management involving demand forecasting, inventory oversight, and logistics coordination.
• Expertise in strategic sourcing, cost optimization, and analytical decision-making within manufacturing or apparel industries.
• Leadership and team management skills, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Familiarity with ERP or procurement software and basic data analysis tools such as Excel and reporting dashboards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related disciplines; advanced certifications in procurement or supply chain are beneficial.
• High ethical standards, meticulousness, and ability to thrive in a high-pressure, onsite work setting in Mumbai.
