Role Overview

Become a freelance video editor for a podcast series that delves into single-word themes seen through Caribbean diaspora and Black cultural viewpoints. This position requires editorial video and audio editing for 15 podcast episodes, including 12 solo (30 minutes each) and 3 episodes featuring guests (45 minutes each). The editor should apply a warm visual style with careful pacing that emphasizes impactful pull-quotes, avoiding overly energetic cuts.

Responsibilities

• Edit 15 podcast episodes’ video and audio: 12 solo and 3 guest episodes
• Create polished, color-corrected videos formatted for YouTube featuring clear lower thirds
• Export high-fidelity audio files for each episode
• Generate three vertical video clips per episode for social media sharing that highlight key moments
• Maintain a warm, editorial, and culturally relevant visual tone
• Work collaboratively to incorporate feedback and make revisions as necessary

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience editing video and audio for podcasts, supplemented with 2-3 examples of prior podcast video editing work
• Proficient with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro and audio editing tools
• Strong visual storytelling capabilities, including expertise in color correction and lower third design
• Ability to match provided reference visual and editorial styles
• Preferred understanding of Caribbean diaspora and Black cultural contexts
• Exceptional attention to detail and consistent delivery quality across episodes
• Dependable weekly availability and adherence to preset turnaround schedules
• Effective communication skills and responsiveness during the editing process
