About the Company and Role

Mindrift is seeking proficient developers for the Tendem project to craft conversational bots and messaging platform integrations across WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Slack, and related channels. This part-time freelance opportunity enables you to leverage expertise in bot engineering and conversational design to create reliable, efficient bots customized for various real-world applications, enhancing user experience on multiple messaging platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Develop functional bots utilizing APIs from platforms such as WhatsApp Business API, Telegram Bot API, Discord API, Slack, among others.
Construct and optimize conversational workflows including dialogue state management and fallback mechanisms.
Integrate natural language models (for instance, OpenAI or Anthropic) to facilitate conversational responses where suitable.
Link bots with backend infrastructures, databases, CRM systems, and external APIs such as booking, payment, or content delivery services.
Manage platform-specific structures including message formats, interactive elements, and webhooks while observing rate limits.
Continuously analyze, troubleshoot, and refine bot implementations to enhance robustness, maintainability, and error handling.
Implement monitoring, logging, and recovery procedures to ensure bot stability in production environments.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in backend development, integration, automation, or bot development roles.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related technical disciplines is advantageous but not mandatory.
Demonstrated expertise with bots on major messaging platforms for at least one year.
Proficiency in Python or Node.js for implementing backend logic of bots.
Solid experience with RESTful APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and asynchronous request processing.
Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases to maintain conversation states and user-related data.
Familiarity with large language model APIs and prompt engineering is a significant plus.
Understanding platform restrictions, message template requirements, and approval processes, especially for WhatsApp.
Experience in deploying bots using Docker, serverless environments, VPS, or PaaS.

Personal Attributes and Other Requirements

Exceptional attention to detail ensuring reliable bot operations without silent failures or disrupted flows.
Ability to independently design, develop, and deploy complete bots.
Presentation of a portfolio or concrete examples of previously developed bots is mandatory.
English language skills with an upper-intermediate (B2) level or higher.

Project Details and Compensation

The role requires an estimated commitment of 10 to 20 hours weekly during active project phases, though this is an approximation rather than a fixed workload.

Compensation can reach up to $60 per hour based on contribution quality and speed, with variations possible on different projects.
