Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to lead teacher development initiatives focused on enhancing the quality of physical education (PE) and physical activity delivery in schools. The role is designed to support schools in building confidence and expertise in these areas through collaboration with educators and community engagement.

Role Details

You will join the Community team as a Football Development Coordinator responsible for leading the teacher development programme via Premier League Primary Stars. This position integrates teacher development, school collaboration, and football delivery, allowing close cooperation with teachers, school leaders, and youth across local communities. Activities include mentoring, co-teaching, professional learning, and continuing professional development (CPD) to improve PE provision and student outcomes sustainably.

Additionally, you will contribute to broader football development efforts such as community football programs, coach mentorship, and impact assessment and reporting. This contract is for a fixed term of 24 months.

Primary Duties

  • Lead and deliver high-quality PE and football educational sessions supporting both pupils and teachers.
  • Enhance teachers' practices through structured mentoring, observation, co-delivery, constructive feedback, and reflective activities.
  • Develop and update educational resources including workbooks and digital teaching materials.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with schools, education leaders, and partners to share best practices.
  • Organise and lead CPD workshops and professional learning events to strengthen PE provisions across multiple partner schools.
  • Assist with football-related community events such as competitions, festivals, holiday programs, and club activities.
  • Coach support through observation, mentoring, and sharing resources and feedback aimed at improving coaching standards.
  • Track and assess programme effectiveness by maintaining accurate records, supporting monitoring and evaluation efforts, and compiling reports and case studies.

Position Responsibility

This role is a position of trust requiring dedication to preventing all forms of abuse and upholding safeguarding responsibilities continuously.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience delivering quality PE in primary school contexts with a solid understanding of physical literacy and effective PE practices.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or developing adult learners to improve their teaching skills.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum requirements for PE and confident application of best practices in school environments.
  • Competence in facilitating workshops or CPD sessions engaging professional participants.
  • Football coaching experience within community or player development settings; UEFA C Coaching Qualification or equivalent required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for building effective relationships with teachers, school leaders, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and report on program impact metrics aligned with objectives.
