About Queensland Government Air (QGAir)
QGAir operates under the Queensland Police Service's Aviation Capability Group and offers specialized government aviation support through rotary and fixed-wing aircraft for multiple agencies, including emergency response operations across Queensland. The unit is recognized for its commitment to safety, innovation, and operational efficiency.
Role Overview
We invite qualified Fixed-Wing Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (B2) to join our committed engineering team based in Brisbane. The incumbent will be responsible for aircraft maintenance adhering strictly to regulatory standards and company policies to maintain high levels of airworthiness and operational availability.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure maintenance and safety compliance of Queensland Police Service aircraft with Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and company standards.
- Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, monitor safety aspects, and maintain accurate aircraft records.
- Oversee subcontracted maintenance personnel and assist other bases with engineering support as directed by the Engineering Manager.
- Provide training and certification to pilots regarding maintenance and onboard equipment.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to effectively manage financial and administrative responsibilities at the base engineering level.
- Participate in operational roles during emergency and disaster situations when necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- Hold a current CASA Avionics B2 Part 66 Licence (mandatory).
- Preferably possess a B300 Type Rating and a Category C Part 66 Licence with no exclusions.
- Experience with Gannet or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is desirable.
- Experience in both heavy and line maintenance is advantageous.
Additional Information and Conditions
- Candidates must comply with CASA Drug and Alcohol Management Plan, including undergoing pre-employment testing and participation in ongoing programs.
