Role Overview

The Financial Analyst for Store Design & Renewal is tasked with providing comprehensive financial planning, forecasting, and reporting support for various teams such as Store Design, Concept Renewal, Fixture Procurement, Point-of-Purchase (POP) Line Review, and In-store Marketing. The role collaborates closely with these departments to guarantee precise financial monitoring, strict budget management, and clear communication of spending across operational budgets. This position plays a vital part in enabling data-driven decisions, enhancing financial responsibility, and optimizing costs for multiple projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of annual budgets for Store Design & Renewal, including operating and marketing budgets and expenditures for in-store execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Conduct periodic reforecasting by analyzing actual spending, identifying variances, and updating forecasts to reflect changes in project scope, timelines, or expenses.
  • Collaborate with Store Design & Renewal teams to comprehend demand factors, scheduling, and financial impacts of design and renewal projects.
  • Oversee year-end and month-end financial procedures, including preparing and verifying accruals to confirm expenses are correctly recorded in the appropriate period.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis comparing budgeted, forecasted, and actual expenditures, communicating key drivers, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with established internal financial controls, policies, and reporting guidelines.
  • Create and update spend reports for leadership that detail year-to-date expenditures, forecast outlooks, and remaining budgets across programs, banners, business owners, and initiatives.
  • Develop financial tracking at the project level, continuously monitoring budgets, commitments, invoices, and projections for ongoing Store Design & Renewal projects.
  • Prepare marketing budget cost reports to track in-store marketing and POP spending relative to approved budgets, highlighting potential risks or savings.
  • Monitor and report on volume rebates connected to POP, ensuring accurate accruals, recoveries, and reconciliation of rebate funds.
  • Identify cost-saving trends and efficiency opportunities, supporting ongoing improvements through insightful financial analysis.
  • Work closely with Procurement and vendors to verify rebate assumptions and confirm financial results.
  • Manage dealer credits linked to Store Design & Renewal, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with funding agreements.
  • Coordinate with Dealers, Finance, and internal teams to validate credit eligibility, address discrepancies, and guarantee proper application of credits against invoices or recoveries.
  • Track dealer credits within project and program financials, ensuring visibility in spend reports, forecasts, and month-end closing activities.
  • Support audits and internal reviews regarding dealer credits, rebates, and recoveries by maintaining transparent documentation and financial traceability.
  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to Store Design & Renewal teams, transforming financial data into actionable insights.
  • Assist in preparing business cases, investment proposals, and scenario analyses for new initiatives or program designs.
  • Contribute to standardizing and automating financial reporting to enhance accuracy and minimize manual effort.

Candidate Profile

  • Have between 3 and 6 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or business finance roles.
  • Hold or be pursuing a CPA designation.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and variance analysis.
  • Experience managing project-focused financial tracking and working within multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; familiarity with financial systems, reporting tools, or Power BI is advantageous.
  • Highly detail-oriented, exhibiting strong financial discipline.
  • Possess a proactive and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance team members.
