Field Service Technician

Overview

We are looking for motivated and qualified technicians or engineers in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Telecommunications fields, ideally with prior experience in field service roles. There are two positions available: one permanent and one fixed-term role lasting approximately two years.

The ideal candidate enjoys working in remote and diverse locations across Australia and is prepared to travel extensively. You should be a collaborative and hands-on professional excited about exploring many regions of the country.

About the Organization

The Observing Operations Hubs are part of the Bureau of Meteorology's technical centers, with eight hubs located in all Australian capital cities plus Cairns. Staff operate in various remote environments using 4WD vehicles, aircraft, boats, and helicopters to maintain instrumentation networks nationwide.

Training and Support

We provide specialised in-house competency training on all required equipment and supply you with the tools and skills needed to perform your duties effectively.
