Field Service Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Perform service tasks within an assigned region including maintenance, repairs, commissioning, and software updates of Intuitive products.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues in all Intuitive systems and associated equipment following established processes and service level agreements.
• Accurately document all service and repair activities.
• Manage coordination and execution of system and hardware deliveries, installations, and setups.
• Independently handle administrative duties such as spare parts management, service reports, return merchandise authorizations (RMA), expense claims, and other field service documentation within deadlines.
• Act as a technical liaison between the manufacturer and customers.
• Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships, including ensuring correct system baseline configurations and providing technical support during operations.
• Assist in customer training, briefings, and events as required.
• Provide support and cover duties in adjacent or nearby service areas when needed.

Required Qualifications

• Completed vocational training in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or an equivalent technical qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in medical technology, ideally with knowledge of operating room workflows and clinical processes.
• Strong technical expertise, particularly with complex electromechanical systems.
• Experience in technical field service including independent fault diagnosis and repair in complex technical systems.
• Excellent teamwork skills as well as the ability to work independently and responsibly.
• Fluent written and verbal communication skills in German and English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
• High social competence and professional demeanor when interacting with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Structured and reliable administrative work style with strong documentation ability.
• Willingness to travel extensively (about 50–70%), depending on region and customer distribution.
