About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Editor to lead our Asia-based ferrous metals editorial team, managing three editors across the region while coordinating closely with colleagues in Europe and the Americas. This role is perfect for a journalist with robust leadership abilities, excellent time management, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
The position focuses on directing our daily Steelmaking Raw Materials (ASRM) report, elevating the quality of ferrous metals market coverage, specifically steering the strategy around coking coal and iron ore. The role maintains a strong Asia-Pacific focus with global collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of editors with varying experience levels, overseeing price assessments, news editing, commentaries, and analyses within deadlines.
- Coordinate the production of daily reports including the Argus Steelmaking Raw Materials pdf, the daily Ferrous Bulletin pdf, and the monthly Argus/MySteel iron ore pdf, working alongside European and US teams.
- Innovate and propose enhancements to the report and expand the network of industry contacts while upholding rigorous journalistic integrity and independence.
- Enhance the report's visibility by representing the company at industry conferences, delivering webinars, and writing white papers.
- Guide editorial coverage through coaching and editing, fostering professional growth among less experienced journalists.
- Maintain strong market insight by cultivating relationships with market participants such as traders, brokers, and investors to source news and price developments.
- Collaborate extensively with ferrous metals teams in Asia and the US to produce comprehensive daily prices, market analyses, news, and reports.
- Communicate complex market topics engagingly, utilizing charts and graphics as appropriate.
- Develop and manage data sets that clarify market trends and dynamics.
- Provide expert knowledge to other departments and coordinate with Business Development and Commercial teams.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated strong news judgment with advanced editing and analytical skills.
- Proven expertise in writing and editing high-value market analysis.
- Well-versed in commodities markets, preferably metals, though candidates from other commodities backgrounds are welcomed.
- Experience in managing and training editorial teams is highly desirable.
- Confident in representing editorial coverage externally in meetings and conferences.
- Exceptional communication, networking, and relationship-building abilities with industry executives.
- Excellent command of English grammar, writing, and numeracy skills.
- Strong leadership qualities coupled with effective time management and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Additional Information
