Role Summary
This full-time, on-site Fencer position in Queenstown involves installing, repairing, and maintaining multiple types of fences including rural, residential, and commercial. Daily tasks include measuring and laying out fence lines, digging post holes, mixing and pouring concrete, setting posts and rails, attaching wire or panels, and ensuring safety and quality standards are upheld. Responsibilities also include material handling, tool and equipment upkeep, and maintaining cleanliness at job sites. The Fencer will collaborate closely with coworkers, follow detailed job plans and instructions, and engage professionally with clients and the public when necessary.
Key Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with fencing tasks such as post installation, wire work, panels, and gate setups.
- Proficient use of hand and power tools like post-hole diggers, saws, drills, and fencing strainers.
- Strong physical fitness and endurance to handle manual outdoor labor under varying weather conditions.
- Basic skills in measuring, layout, and problem-solving to accurately interpret site requirements and complete installations.
- Dedication to safe working practices, including adherence to health and safety guidelines and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Dependability, time management skills, and the ability to work independently or within a team environment.
- Possession of a valid driver's license along with reliable transportation to access multiple job sites in the Queenstown area.
- Previous experience in fencing, construction, landscaping, or related trades is beneficial but not mandatory, welcoming motivated candidates ready to learn.
