Overview

Legrand is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join its Starline Team in Tuas, Singapore. The role focuses on ensuring the optimal functioning and reliability of Legrand Starline's facilities, grounds, manufacturing machinery, and fleet of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily facility maintenance activities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Lead and coordinate the preventative maintenance programs, developing schedules and procedures for maintenance, repairs, and construction projects.
  • Manage landscaping and custodial contractors to maintain the facility’s appearance and cleanliness.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions, providing solutions to correct issues and assisting production teams with troubleshooting complex machine failures.
  • Maintain effective interdepartmental relationships to facilitate operations.
  • Ensure compliance of company vehicles with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Interpret facility blueprints, handle ordering of parts and supplies, and manage spare parts inventory efficiently.
  • Administer fire and security systems, including off-site monitoring.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company standards concerning quality, productivity, efficiency, and budget controls.
  • Prepare all necessary reports within the department and respond to management’s requests.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by learning and supporting various departments as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Diploma or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical skills and aptitude.
  • Effective written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Work and height safety certification mandatory.
  • Proven leadership to manage diverse teams.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting proficiency.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and contractors is advantageous.

Physical and Behavioral Expectations

  • Regular exposure to manufacturing settings requiring safety goggles and hearing protection.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and walk for long durations.
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds occasionally, and 25 pounds frequently.
  • Comfortable working at heights above 10 feet.
  • Willingness to work in confined spaces.
