Role overview
Arcadis is hiring a Facilities Engineer in Kerry, Ireland. This role reports to the Engineering Facilities Lead and is focused on managing the operation and upkeep of the assigned facilities systems and equipment.
The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, industrial, or semiconductor process environments.
Core responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee temporary contractors working within the Facilities team.
- Build and improve operating and maintenance procedures to support strong practice standards and meet regulatory expectations.
- Drive ongoing improvements to facilities systems so that operational performance and maintenance efficiency are maximized.
- Support the Engineering Facilities Lead with operational and capital budget planning when needed.
- Serve as the subject matter owner for GMP and non-GMP systems, as relevant.
- Investigate and resolve issues affecting process-specific equipment.
- Prepare data and reports for Annual Product Quality Reviews and regulatory submissions.
- Contribute to change control activities and commissioning/qualification work.
- Provide facilities-related input across company projects.
- Help plan shutdown activities in coordination with Facilities and business units.
- Share prompt and accurate updates on risks, constraints, and technical concerns.
- Guide interim engineers and students where required.
Skills and background
A relevant third-level qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, or Science disciplines is required. Candidates should have a solid understanding of GMP and system validation, along with the capability to lead facilities projects and manage project work effectively. Strong practical knowledge of HVAC and clean systems is important. A flexible approach to working methods and procedures is also expected. Experience with SAP Maintenance Processing, Trackwise, and CAD is considered an advantage.
