Key Responsibilities
- Analyze tender documents, project plans, and specifications thoroughly.
- Conduct precise quantity take-offs utilizing AGTEK software.
- Request and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Perform site visits and take necessary field measurements to aid in bid preparation.
- Examine all permits, sets of drawings, and specifications carefully.
- Develop comprehensive bid proposals.
- Prepare comparison sheets to evaluate subcontractor bids.
- Compile estimate turnovers for project managers.
- Assemble project books and maintain call lists with follow-ups to ensure adequate coverage.
- Foster and sustain positive relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Utilize HCSS Heavy Bid software for estimating project costs.
- Support field management in cost control and processing change orders.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a construction-related field is preferred; relevant experience combined with education also considered.
- Between 2 to 5 years of experience in the road construction sector with proven expertise in bidding.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must pass employer-conducted drug screening and background checks.
- Valid Georgia driver’s license required due to frequent travel between office and sites.
