About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a solid background in construction projects to join a reputable and expanding company based in Monmouthshire, Wales. In this role, you will oversee the estimating process from the initial site survey through to quotation preparation and project handover while fostering strong relationships with clients. Your work will have a direct impact on both business growth and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate precise and competitive quotations for both new and existing clients within agreed service levels.
- Conduct thorough site surveys to develop detailed project specifications.
- Interpret construction drawings, client requirements and specifications accurately.
- Prepare comprehensive bills of materials tailored to each project.
- Coordinate internally to ensure availability of materials, tools, plant, and equipment before starting projects.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with both customers and contractors.
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to acquiring new business opportunities.
- Compile essential project documentation, including health and safety information and site constraints.
- Ensure projects meet commercial objectives and maintain expected profit margins.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience as an Estimator in the construction sector with deep knowledge of construction estimating processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software for interpreting technical plans.
- Strong communication and organizational skills that support effective project management.
- Competent problem solver with good decision-making capabilities.
- Experienced with Microsoft Excel and various computer systems.
- Understanding of current construction laws and industry standards.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
- Familiarity with Sage 200 accounting software.
- CSCS card holder.
- IOSH safety certification.
- SMSTS qualification or higher preferred.
