Job Overview

The role of Engineer Planning PSD Mechanical involves organizing and scheduling maintenance tasks within the plant, working in tandem with Central Planning, Reliability, Plant Maintenance, and Process/Operations teams. This position falls under Engineering Planning in the Asset Operations value stream within the Manufacturing family.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and arrange all maintenance activities at the plant in partnership with Central Planning, Reliability, Plant Maintenance, and Process/Operations departments.
  • Effectively allocate resources including manpower, materials, services, and pooled assets to facilitate maintenance jobs.
  • Utilize a risk-based approach to routine maintenance planning to enhance prioritization.
  • Develop and distribute daily and weekly maintenance schedules collaboratively with Process/Operations, while managing backlog efficiently.
  • Prepare the REAM annual maintenance plan and budget for the plant in coordination with maintenance and relevant functions.
  • Maintain and update a long-term multi-year maintenance plan specific to the plant.
  • Synchronize preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and changeover schedules by collaborating with Central Planning, Process/Operations, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams.
  • Adapt plans and schedules promptly to accommodate resource limitations and unexpected/emergency tasks.
  • Coordinate with Central Planning to ensure alignment and synchronization between central and plant maintenance schedules.
  • Track progress and expedite implementation of recommendations stemming from root cause analyses, incident investigations, asset performance management, and audits.
  • Review daily lost labor factor reports, maintenance logs, and process logbooks to identify new maintenance jobs.
  • Conduct inventory modeling and periodically review and adjust stock levels of plant-specific maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) items.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and other materials regularly, taking necessary actions to maintain adequate stock.
  • Provide input to Reliability teams on maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and optimize maintenance processes.
  • Implement and oversee the use of work order management processes and systems in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintain an up-to-date job list within CMMS or other systems for non-shutdown, opportunity shutdown, and scheduled shutdown jobs.
  • Generate and manage management information system reports, key performance indicators, and other maintenance metrics, supplying relevant data to central maintenance functions.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance planning and scheduling at the plant and recommend improvements.
  • Support turnaround and shutdown planning led by central maintenance and monitor execution progress.
  • Manage and maintain master data and technical object information at the plant level.
