Role Overview
The Ecommerce Merchandise Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring optimal stock levels, accurate sales forecasting, and operational preparedness to support robust trading outcomes across the eCommerce channel. Working closely with the Head of eCommerce and wider commercial teams, this position provides critical oversight on inventory, forecasting, and supply chain operations necessary to execute trading strategies effectively.
This role is the primary operational and merchandising lead for eCommerce, responsible for monitoring stock risks and opportunities, proactively implementing solutions to enhance sales performance, stock availability, and operational efficiency. The position demands a blend of strong commercial insight and operational excellence to maintain processes, systems, and supply chain coordination that aligns with business growth and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and maintain detailed daily, weekly, and monthly reports analyzing sales, inventory, and operational metrics to uncover risks and prospects.
- Manage stock risk visibility including out-of-stock occurrences, sizing impacts, restocking opportunities, and ageing inventory, offering recommendations to safeguard trading performance.
- Translate customer insights from feedback, returns analysis, and operational trends into actionable strategies to enhance performance and customer experience.
- Maintain comprehensive inventory oversight ensuring optimal stock availability and readiness for eCommerce operations.
- Collaborate closely with global Supply Chain teams on forecasts, stock intake, delivery priorities, service level agreements, and operational constraints.
- Proactively identify and address stock risks such as overstock, out-of-stock situations, and aged SKUs, providing clear advice and escalation as necessary.
- Plan stock allocation for peak sales periods, product launches, loyalty programs, and significant commercial events.
- Ensure operational preparedness for product releases, seasonal marketing campaigns, and ancillary needs like samples and gift packaging.
- Own the accuracy of stock and sales forecasts spanning product categories to facilitate effective stock risk control and availability planning.
- Contribute to seasonal budget planning, forecasting, and reforecasting by analyzing data and delivering commercial insights.
- Align forecasts with the trading calendar, operational capacities, and supply chain modifications to support precise execution.
- Leverage historical data, market trends, and operational insights continually to refine forecasting accuracy and inventory efficiency.
- Lead efforts to drive operational excellence in eCommerce merchandising and supply chain workflows.
- Initiate and implement process improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency, precision, scalability, and collaboration between functions.
- Serve as a key operational voice in supply chain and business meetings to communicate vital updates and risks clearly.
- Partner with stakeholders to enhance systems, reporting tools, stock visibility, and work processes.
- Support preparations for peak sales periods, fulfillment changes, and major trading activities to ensure smooth operations.

- Deep operational understanding of supply chain, fulfillment, and eCommerce functions.
- Proven track record in process optimization and system enhancements within dynamic, high-paced settings.
- Excellent skills in managing cross-functional relationships and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities efficiently.
