Early Years Educator

Role Overview

First Flight Creche and Montessori, located near the coastal area of Furbo, approximately 10km from Galway City, is seeking a passionate and qualified Early Years Educator to join their team on a full-time basis. The work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, either from 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and nurturing of children in your care within the childcare environment.
• Design and apply age-appropriate activities aligned with Aistear Siolta standards to promote children's developmental growth.
• Support children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development needs.
• Carry out child observations under the guidance of the room leader and document children's developmental progress accurately.
• Communicate effectively with parents and team members to foster a collaborative care environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the childcare area.
• Demonstrate flexibility to work in different rooms when required.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum qualification of FETAC Level 5 in Childcare.
• At least one year of relevant work experience in childcare.
• Familiarity with pertinent legislation and childcare regulations.
• Completed Garda Vetting clearance.
• Possession of a current First Aid certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Additional Information

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Having personal transport is advantageous given the location, although the creche is accessible via a bus route. Eligible applicants must be authorized to work in Ireland. Employment offers are contingent upon reference verification.
