About the Employer and Work Setting
The Department of Education, Western Australia, invites applications for Domestic Cleaner roles at the Western Australian College of Agriculture (WACoA) – Cunderdin. This institution offers Year 11 and 12 students a distinctive educational experience blending academic excellence with practical exposure to agricultural farming, advanced trade workshops, and residential amenities with capacity for 144 students. The college has earned recognition as a finalist in the WA Education Awards for Excellence in Teaching and Learning in consecutive years (2023 and 2024).
Role Overview
We are forming a roster of Domestic Cleaners for both permanent and fixed-term openings, available full-time and part-time during the 2026 school year through end of Term 3, 2027. These roles primarily involve comprehensive cleaning duties across the campus and boarding quarters, upholding exemplary health, safety, and hygiene standards. While cleaning remains the core responsibility, incumbents may assist with related tasks such as laundry, catering, and other duties to support school operations.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of interior and exterior areas, including floors, bathrooms, windows, and fixtures.
- Empty waste receptacles and remove cobwebs regularly.
- Make beds and maintain tidiness in residential facilities.
- Report any maintenance or equipment faults promptly.
- Support laundry functions: washing, sorting, ironing, storing clothing and linens, and upkeep of laundry machines.
- Assist with catering tasks as needed, including food prep, kitchen cleaning, dishwashing, meal service, waste management, and orderly maintenance of storage spaces.
- Undertake additional duties as required to facilitate smooth running of college and boarding services.
Candidate Eligibility
- Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid work visa covering the term of employment.
- Possession of a valid Working With Children Check prior to commencement.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain clearance from the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before starting.

Recruitment Process
