Role Responsibilities
- Develop detailed scopes of work and corresponding budgets for projects
- Evaluate plans, diagrams, field notes, and sample materials to define material specifications for construction
- Create technical descriptions specifying material properties, characteristics, and performance criteria
- Prepare detailed lists, sketches, drawings, and photographs to clearly illustrate specified materials and assembly processes
- Conduct and assist with fieldwork to collect site-specific information and coordinate with manufacturers
- Assemble and manage bid packages for solicitation purposes
- Serve as communication liaison between the project manager and various team members to gather all necessary information for bid documents
- Prepare and review contract-related documents such as addenda, change orders, and other bid package materials
- Review submittals, shop drawings, and proposed material substitutions
- Maintain both digital and physical libraries of material samples
- Assist with preparation, review, and submission of Landmark Preservation Commission (LPC) applications and material approval processes
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or equivalent
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and perform well under tight deadlines with strong organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and vendors
- Pursuit of professional licenses or certifications is advantageous
- Positive, proactive attitude with proven teamwork capabilities
- Strong work ethic, accuracy, autonomy, and accountability for one’s work
- Self-driven with interest in growing professionally and assuming greater responsibilities
Compensation
The annual salary range for this position is between $55,000 and $65,000, based in-office in New York, NY.
