Job Summary
The role of Deputy Manager - Project Stores centers on efficient management and control of inventory within solar manufacturing facilities. The position emphasizes fostering a strong safety culture while ensuring adherence to all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards. This includes carrying out inspections and audits, addressing legal and internal compliance, and continuously improving store operations to mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming materials by verifying quantities against purchase orders and delivery documents, inspecting quality and detecting physical damage.
- Record all goods received, noting shortages, damages, and inconsistencies, while coordinating swiftly with procurement for resolution.
- Organize stored materials properly in assigned warehouse zones, ensuring accurate labeling, segregation, and compliance with storage protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and order within the warehouse to avoid contamination, loss, or damage.
- Issue materials based on authorized requests with precise documentation of all transactions including returns and transfers, updating inventory systems timely.
- Perform periodic inventory checks through cycle counts and physical verifications to maintain accuracy and identify discrepancies such as excess, shortages, or obsolete stock.
- Operate strictly in line with safety standards, using prescribed personal protective equipment and handling special materials (hazardous, flammable) according to statutory and company guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Procurement, Logistics, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth material flow and timely availability.
- Keep management informed with updates on inventory status, slow movers, shortages, and potential risks.
- Assist logistics planning for inbound and outbound shipments efficiently.
- Maintain comprehensive records for all inventory movements and support audit and compliance documentation needs.
- Ensure quality compliance by issuing materials meeting specified standards and escalating non-conformities promptly.
- Identify process improvements in warehouse layout, storage practices, and inventory management techniques, contributing to relevant training and improvement initiatives.
- Uphold high ethical standards by conducting all inventory activities with accountability, integrity, and transparency aligned with company policies.
Internal and External Stakeholders
- Internal: Head of Stores, Logistics Supports, Project Teams, Quality Control Department.
- External: Suppliers, Vendors, Transport Providers, Safety Equipment Suppliers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Store Management (DSM) or related field.
- Minimum 5 years proven experience in inventory control or warehouse operations within manufacturing or industrial projects.
- Proficient understanding of inventory control procedures, material inspection, warehouse safety norms, documentation, and basic inventory management software.
