Data Specialist

Job Overview

We are looking for a Junior data and analytics expert skilled in SQL and Python to analyze banking data, support reporting and data architecture tasks, and collaborate closely with users to gather requirements and solve issues effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and document business and functional specifications related to data initiatives.
• Conduct investigations and analysis on data to support queries from bank-wide users.
• Perform data profiling, analyze gaps, map sources to targets, identify data problems, and handle resolution or escalation processes.
• Support full project delivery phases including requirements discussions and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Execute detailed data analysis and data inquiry tasks.
• Lead the complete UAT process end-to-end.
• Maintain the business glossary and dashboards to facilitate review and analytical reviews.
• Provide assistance across various project implementation stages.

Required Expertise

• Strong command of SQL and Python programming.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to independently engage with users to understand needs and investigate issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal interaction skills.
• Basic knowledge of banking products and services.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of data architecture including data warehousing and big data technologies.
• Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystems and BI/discovery platforms like Qlik Sense and Hue.
• Experience or exposure to AI applications is a plus.
