Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with business stakeholders to understand their challenges and refine business use cases into actionable data projects.
• Perform data cleansing, preprocessing, feature engineering, and craft data science models and products addressing stakeholder needs.
• Deliver iterative presentations of findings and incorporate stakeholder feedback while managing project timelines.
• Communicate insights and potential business impacts through clear narratives with compelling data visualizations to influence decision makers.
• Design dashboards and interactive visual tools for data exploration and storytelling where relevant.
• Deploy and monitor machine learning models using existing MLOps platforms when applicable.
• Possibility to be embedded within other government agencies for extended periods (2-3 years) to lead data science capability building and project execution.

Candidate Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in data science, computer science, statistics, economics, quantitative social science, or similar; relevant certifications also considered.
• Minimum two years of experience in data science and/or public sector roles.
• Adept at translating business requirements into analytical problems and identifying suitable data sources.
• Strong programming skills for data handling and analysis using contemporary tools and methods.
• Expertise in data cleaning, anomaly detection, and preparing high-quality structured and unstructured data sets.
• Proficient in statistical analysis and probability techniques to extract insights from data.
• Experience building machine learning models for pattern recognition and predictive analytics.
• Knowledgeable in visualization best practices and capable of creating both standalone and integrated dashboards and applications for real-time data representation.
• Ability to transform analytical outputs into actionable recommendations and communicate analytical results effectively to stakeholders.
• Strong passion for leveraging data analytics to enhance public services and deliver societal benefits.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with ML model deployment and MLOps.
• Strong stakeholder management capabilities.
• Familiarity with agile project methodologies.
• Experience in mentoring or developing capabilities in others.
