Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time Data Scientist / Analytics Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team. This role involves hands-on work developing scalable data pipelines, analytical models, and delivering insights tailored to marketing and campaign operations. It blends data science, analytics, and data engineering, ideal for professionals who enjoy managing the entire data lifecycle—from raw ingestion through modeling to driving business impact. You will be instrumental in shaping Starshot's data infrastructure, enabling more informed and timely organizational decisions.
Key Responsibilities

- Design and oversee scalable, clean data models to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Develop forecasting and predictive statistical models to enhance marketing effectiveness and targeting.
- Produce production-quality code for data processing, transformation, and advanced analysis.
- Collaborate with teams in Marketing, Operations, and Product to prioritize and address business challenges.
- Present clear and actionable insights to assist decision-making at both team and executive levels.
- Contribute to data governance initiatives, including standardizing campaign identifiers and ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Optimize and automate workflows to minimize manual reporting and strengthen data reliability.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in roles such as Data Scientist, Analytics Engineer, or Data Analyst.
- Proficient coding skills in Python and SQL.
- Experience building or supporting data pipelines and data modeling beyond just analysis.
- Strong grounding in statistics, experiment design, and quantitative analysis.
- Experience handling large, complex datasets spanning multiple systems.
- Ability to effectively bridge responsibilities across analytics and data engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline like Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Economics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background working with marketing, campaign, or customer data such as attribution analysis, funnel analysis, or customer segmentation.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, Snowflake, Databricks), data transformation tools (like dbt), BI/visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau), and CRM or marketing platforms (for instance, Dynamics 365).
- Experience thriving in fast-paced, cross-functional team settings.
Candidate Attributes
- Comfortable managing both pipeline construction and data analysis tasks.
- Proactive problem solver with ownership mindset and decisive action bias.
- Capable of translating technical details into business-relevant insights.
- Detail-focused with a strong emphasis on data quality, consistency, and accountability.
- Adaptable to evolving data environments where systems are continuously built and standardized.
Why Work With Starshot
- Chance to build and scale a modern data platform for the company.
- Engage with critical areas such as marketing analytics, campaign architecture, and data governance.
