Role Summary
The position entails designing and maintaining scalable, metadata-driven ELT/ETL frameworks for ingesting and transforming data. The candidate will work with Azure cloud technologies to build data lakes, warehouses, and process large-scale data sets while applying best practices in data management and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain efficient, scalable data pipeline infrastructures designed for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading from diverse data sources.
- Work on assembling and managing complex data sets aligned with functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Streamline data processes by automating manual workflows, enhancing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for scalability.
- Lead the design, modeling, operationalization, and management of extensive structured and unstructured data repositories.
- Implement distributed storage and querying methods aiming for performance and scalability.
- Build and oversee monitoring systems for data services platforms.
- Create and maintain Data Lakes and Data Warehouse architectures within Azure ecosystems.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and best practices to update and improve systems and procedures.
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation and operational guides.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Analytics, or related fields.
- Azure Certified Data Engineer credential.
- Over eight years of practical experience in ETL development and data pipeline design.
- Proven expertise in data lakes and warehouse development, specifically with Microsoft Azure Data Factory and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Hands-on experience with Azure Delta Lake, Azure Storage solutions, and Informatica IDMC.
- Strong knowledge of data governance tools such as Azure Purview and database technologies including Azure SQL Database and Azure Data Lake.
- Programming and scripting proficiency in Python, Scala, Java, Bash, Azure CLI, and PowerShell.
- Solid understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices, particularly with Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with streaming data processing frameworks like Spark, Azure Stream Analytics, Event Hubs, and Azure Data Explorer.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Storm, Hive, and HBase is a plus.
