About the Role
Opencast Software is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to partner with clients in sectors such as government, healthcare, and other purpose-driven organizations. In this position, you will transform data into meaningful insights that inform decision-making and enhance services. Working closely within product delivery teams, you will develop performance measurement frameworks to track objectives, user needs, and key performance indicators (KPIs) while abiding by technical, legal, and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
You will guide clients toward improved outcomes by selecting suitable analytical methods and contributing to product development. As a leader in data practices, you will mentor junior team members and apply measurement techniques appropriate to different stages of product delivery. All work should comply with Opencast’s quality, environmental, and information security standards along with any customer-specific policies.
Experience and Expertise
Applicants should have experience in digital service delivery for the UK government, including familiarity with the Government Digital Service (GDS) toolkit. Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain Security Check (SC) Clearance, which generally requires UK citizenship and at least five years of continuous UK residence without long absences.
Proven abilities include programming and scripting in languages like SQL, Python, or R; data visualization using tools such as Power BI, Tableau or QlikView; designing performance frameworks featuring KPIs or OKRs; as well as data collection, cleansing, and interpretation to generate actionable insights. You should be adept at using effective visualization methods to craft compelling data narratives, forming testable hypotheses and deriving conclusions accordingly.
Desirable Skills
Experience with security and data privacy considerations, service improvement recommendations, and familiarity with GDS or NHS design principles will be advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
The consultant salary ranges from £44,001 to £50,000 annually. Benefits include a 7% employer pension contribution, share option plans, discretionary bonuses, flexible working hours contingent on client needs, 25 days annual leave plus three additional days for personal emergencies, wellbeing support programs, professional development resources, and opportunities to participate in volunteering activities.
Work Environment
This position involves regular travel to the company’s headquarters, hub offices, client locations, and home as required. Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite as necessary.
Inclusion and Recruitment
Opencast values diversity and encourages applicants from all backgrounds and perspectives. Interviews will take place via Microsoft Teams, and adjustments can be made to accommodate candidates’ needs.
