Job Overview
This role demands an individual capable of performing duties with minimal supervision, following established guidelines to prepare complex and specialized reports within customs studies. The incumbent contributes significantly toward achieving departmental milestones and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather necessary documentation and data from stakeholders within set deadlines to prepare case files efficiently.
- Ensure case files are thoroughly compiled and data entries are accurate and complete to facilitate comprehensive review.
- Correct any data inaccuracies in case files, including discrepancies in item counts and physical errors.
- Conduct precise and impartial analyses of fine-related cases imposed by the authority, clarifying reasons for penalties and delivering timely reports to Committees.
- Evaluate customs assessment cases related to due tax ratios from an accounting perspective and provide objective studies to Committees promptly.
- Generate detailed studies responding to consultation requests during Appeals Committee deliberations.
- Formulate professional customs accounting opinions on tax legislation and regulations.
- Compile and deliver timely, accurate routine and customized reports for the department's management.
- Maintain and periodically update the section's databases and relevant data repositories.
- Identify and report issues to management while proposing action plans with recommendations for improved outcomes.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and standard operating processes to ensure consistent and controlled work execution.
- Assist in resolving escalated matters and support junior colleagues in completing their tasks efficiently.
- Escalate complex issues appropriately to guarantee proper closure.
- Carry out any additional duties as assigned.
- Train and guide junior staff on job responsibilities to foster knowledge transfer and skill development.
- Assign tasks, offer clear directions, prioritize workloads, and supervise the progress of subordinates.
- Support junior team members in complying with established policies and operational procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Law or an equivalent qualification.
- Have at least 2 years of relevant professional experience.
