Cook II - Pastry

Role overview

This position is for a Pastry Cook II in West Bay, Doha, Qatar, within the Food and Beverage & Culinary department. It is a full-time, non-management role located onsite. The role focuses on preparing baked and pastry items to recipe, quality, and presentation standards while supporting the overall smooth operation of the kitchen.

Key duties

• Prepare and cook menu items according to standard recipes, food preparation checklists, and presentation guidelines.
• Measure, portion, chop, and store ingredients properly before use.
• Use baking tools, measuring equipment, and kitchen appliances safely and correctly when producing baked goods.
• Follow food safety and hygiene practices, including personal cleanliness requirements.
• Verify appliance and food temperatures and escalate any equipment or safety concerns to management.
• Clean and sanitize the kitchen, set up and close down the workstation, and maintain sanitation procedures throughout the shift.
• Track food quality and portion control during service.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by supervisors.

• Be able to lift, move, carry, push, pull, and place items up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Work safely on uneven, sloped, or slippery surfaces and perform physical movements such as reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Remain standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.

Eligibility and qualification

The preferred educational background is a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Prior related work experience of less than 1 year is preferred. No supervisory background is required, and no license or certification is needed.
