Contract UX Designer

Role Overview

Seeking an experienced UX Designer for a three-month contract position based in London, with a hybrid schedule of three days onsite and two days remote weekly. The role involves designing customer-focused digital products in a dynamic environment, ideally with a retail sector background.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform user research and convert insights into user-centered design solutions.
• Develop personas, customer journey maps, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
• Collaborate extensively with Product Managers, UI Designers, and Developers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead usability testing sessions and optimize designs based on feedback.
• Communicate design concepts and suggestions to stakeholders clearly.
• Ensure all designs comply with accessibility guidelines and UX best practices.
• Support maintenance and development of design systems for consistency across digital platforms.
• Engage actively in Agile teams to meet timelines.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrable professional experience as a UX Designer with a strong portfolio covering end-to-end UX for web and/or mobile.
• Competent in using Figma and other leading design software.
• Experience in conducting user research and usability testing methods.
• Strong verbal and written communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Familiar with Agile development processes.
• Desirable qualities include experience in retail or e-commerce, knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards, design system expertise, and familiarity with analytics-driven design approaches.
