This position focuses on managing the full lifecycle of external contracts—from initial setup through renewal and departure—for a variety of vendors and individual contractors across all Canadian locations.
The CLO operates with a customer-centric approach, balancing the firm's commercial objectives while mitigating risk. The team acts as trusted advisors, continuously updating their expertise and market intelligence to provide innovative and suitable solutions to businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a knowledgeable advisor to Hiring Managers, guiding the engagement process for external workers and service providers.
- Manage intake discussions with senior stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding of resource needs.
- Facilitate training and walkthroughs on the vendor management system for request submissions.
- Perform due diligence activities, including background checks, independence assessments, and business validations on external resources.
- Maintain clear, ongoing communication with stakeholders throughout contract processes to keep them informed.
- Document case information meticulously in shared systems for reporting, analytics, and compliance audits.
- Identify complex cases and collaborate with the team to address business requirements effectively.
- Respond to and triage inquiries related to contingent labour efficiently and professionally.
- Drive process improvements by analyzing current workflows, identifying opportunities, conducting impact studies, and supporting change management initiatives.
- Update and maintain internal documentation such as standard operating procedures, knowledge articles, templates, and forms.
- Educate and train relevant teams (CLO, Procurement, HR, Offshore) on policies, process changes, and best practices.
- Stay informed on legislative and policy issues related to contingent workforce management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in case management roles, ideally involving contracting or contingent workforce management.
- Experience working with staffing agencies or contingent labour programs is an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; bilingualism in French is preferred.
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders including senior leadership, contractors, external vendors, and internal experts such as IT and Finance teams.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and handle complex workloads.
- Organizational skills with the capacity to balance competing demands effectively.
- Keen interest in process optimization and continuous improvement with an aptitude for impact analysis.
- Successful track record leading or supporting operational and process-driven initiatives.
- Comfort and proficiency with multiple software tools and technologies, including advanced MS Excel skills.
- Experience working with vendor management systems like Flextrack or Beeline is beneficial.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow platform is an asset.
- Post-secondary education at college or university level in a relevant field.
