About Singapore National Eye Centre
Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) serves as the national hub for ophthalmology within Singapore's public healthcare system. The centre employs nearly 90 ophthalmologists and over 800 staff members. Annually, SNEC oversees more than 330,000 patient consultations and performs upwards of 35,000 surgeries and laser procedures. It offers comprehensive ophthalmic services covering subspecialties such as Cataract, Corneal & External Eye Disease, Comprehensive Ophthalmology, Glaucoma, Neuro-ophthalmology, Ocular Inflammation & Immunology, Oculoplastic, Paediatric Ophthalmology & Adult Strabismus, Refractive Surgery, and both Surgical and Medical Retina.
Position Overview
SNEC is seeking enthusiastic and patient-oriented Consultant Ophthalmologists to join various departments including Oculoplastic, Glaucoma, Paediatric Ophthalmology & Adult Strabismus, Medical Retina, and General Ophthalmology. The role involves practice at main and regional satellite centers such as Changi General Hospital, Sengkang General Hospital, and new satellite locations.
Contract and Location
This is a full-time, on-site position based across SNEC’s main and satellite sites with a contract duration of three years.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of a basic Medical Degree alongside a postgraduate ophthalmology qualification (e.g., MMed, FRCOphth) that qualifies for registration with the Singapore Medical Council.
- Completion of an accredited advanced specialist training program in Ophthalmology and eligible for accreditation by the Specialist Accreditation Board, Ministry of Health, and specialist registration with the Singapore Medical Council.
- Demonstrated teaching and research expertise with a publication record is advantageous.
