Role Summary

We are seeking a Construction Foreman for a multifamily site in Ottawa to supervise all construction activities. This position collaborates closely with the Site Superintendent to manage project budgets, schedules, and productivity on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate the skills and capabilities of tradespersons and crews, providing coaching and training as required.
• Delegate tasks to the crew and monitor progress carefully.
• Coordinate with trade contractors to ensure appropriate sequencing of work.
• Assist subcontractors with scheduling and offer direction when necessary.
• Partner with the Site Superintendent to oversee all field elements of budget, schedule, and productivity.
• Identify, address, and resolve issues within the crew.
• Set work standards and behavioral expectations to uphold morale and maximize productivity.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures consistently by the crew.
• Support corrective actions in collaboration with the Site Superintendent when needed.
• Provide recommendations regarding personnel decisions such as hiring and promotions as asked by the Site Superintendent.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of construction experience, specifically in residential, wood-frame multifamily construction.
• Strong knowledge of building techniques, codes, and safety rules relevant to multi-story apartment construction.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and architectural schematics accurately.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Effective organizational and management abilities to meet deadlines efficiently.
• Proven decision-making skills, taking accountability for actions.
• Commitment to performing all tasks safely in line with procedures and instructions.

Compensation and Benefits
