We are currently seeking a full-time Commis Chef to join our dynamic team at Sydney Lounges. This role supports our mission of delivering exceptional service and high-quality culinary offerings to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients by chopping, slicing, dicing, and accurately measuring food items.
• Perform cooking methods such as grilling, frying, baking, and sautéing under direction from senior chefs.
• Follow established recipes and presentation guidelines for dish preparation.
• Help with assembly and plating to ensure portion sizes and presentation meet company standards.
• Adhere to kitchen safety protocols, including correct usage of kitchen equipment and safe handling of hot goods.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Hold a minimum Certificate III in Cookery qualification.
• Possess knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with physical endurance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in hospitality, preferably with pans and larder operations.
• Working in a luxury 5-star setting is advantageous but not essential.
• Must have full Australian work rights and be able to pass a Federal Police Clearance.

The position is covered under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award [MA000009]. Successful candidates will be required to complete a Federal Police check at their own expense to obtain security clearance for airport work.
