Role Overview

The Commercial Supervisor position is a full-time, on-site role located in Broome, Western Australia. This role involves managing commercial elements of construction projects, focusing on contract administration, cost management, and financial reporting to ensure successful, timely, and budget-compliant project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor contracts.
  • Monitoring and controlling project expenditures.
  • Preparing progress claims and contract variations.
  • Supporting procurement activities for projects.
  • Collaborating with project managers, site supervisors, and clients to manage risks and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory frameworks.
  • Maintaining clear and professional communication regarding all commercial issues.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance commercial efficiency and support the company’s quality and community goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in commercial supervision, contract administration, or quantity surveying within construction.
  • Strong capabilities in budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, and commercial risk management.
  • Ability to interpret contracts, drawings, specifications, and other construction documents.
  • Proficiency with project management and construction software, along with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills for handling multiple projects and deadlines on-site.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications such as Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Knowledge of Australian construction standards, commercial practices, and workplace health and safety requirements; experience in regional or remote locations is beneficial.
  • Commitment to ethical business conduct, community engagement, and initiatives promoting positive generational change.
