Commercial Project Manager

Role Overview

As a key member of the SE FIN GT GS ME UG team, the Commercial Project Manager (CPM) is responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of projects, including financial management, accounting, legal compliance, tax, and Export Compliance and Control (ECC). The CPM ensures that projects comply with applicable regulations throughout execution phases and supports Project Managers in meeting Project Excellence standards, customer demands, and Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRG). Strong collaboration between CPM and Project Manager is crucial for the successful completion of projects.

Key Duties

• Manage commercial authority with appropriate signature authorization and project objectives, focusing primarily on projects categorized as C.
• Assist Project Managers to meet project targets related to cost, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and internal departments.
• Ensure precise costing and pricing, maintain project financials in systems like SAP, and control all financial KPIs such as orders, revenue, costs, profit, receivables, inventory, payables, and cash flow according to Siemens Energy standards.
• Oversee receivables and collections, conduct regular customer visits, handle payments to suppliers, and manage bank guarantees, letters of credit, and other financial instruments following company policies.
• Ensure project team compliance with Business Conduct Guidelines, fostering a culture of integrity, and assist in preparation for project and business review meetings.
• Maintain accurate financial records using tools such as Spiridon, Project Dash, PM Impact, and NCC Reporting.
• Handle contract, claim, risk, and opportunity management with customers, suppliers, and other parties throughout the project lifecycle including execution and warranty phases. Manage project finances in relation to contract risks, foreign exchange, insurance, tax, letters of credit, bank guarantees, and export control.
• Participate in project meetings alongside Project Managers and support procurement, logistics, and preparation of supplier or logistics contracts and purchase orders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Business Administration or Finance.
• 5 to 7 years of experience as a Commercial Project Manager; certification as a ‘C’ CPM is preferred or a willingness to attain certification during employment.
• Experience in turnkey or EPC solution business is advantageous.
• Strong focus on quality and accuracy with a commitment to high-quality project deliverables.
• Analytical skills to interpret complex data and support decision-making.
• Motivated for continuous learning and skill development in project management.
• Ability to organize multiple projects, prioritize efficiently, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and relationship building.

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP.
