Claim Handler - Motor and Liability

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Claims Handler experienced in managing motor material damage and liability claims across Employers' Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL), and Motor lines. This full-time role is based at our Dublin office and requires candidates to hold an Accredited Product Advisor (APA) qualification.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply insurance policy coverage accurately to assigned claims.
• Conduct thorough investigations of claims.
• Negotiate and resolve claims in line with company policies and best practices.
• Ensure accurate reserving of claims according to established guidelines.
• Maintain high standards of service quality and data accuracy.
• Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring compliance with technical and service quality standards.
• Authorize claim payments and reserves within delegated authority limits.
• Provide expert technical advice and build strong internal and external business relationships.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to project work.
• Support senior claim professionals with complex claims when required.
• Maintain open communication with management and colleagues regarding claim actions and impacts across various business areas.
• Engage actively in ongoing training and professional development.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a minimum of an Accredited Product Advisor (APA) qualification.
• Previous experience in insurance-related roles such as claims handling, paralegal work, insurance operations, or brokerage is preferred.
• Demonstrates technical proficiency sufficient to manage assigned claims within given authority.
• Exhibits intermediate communication, business acumen, relationship-building, flexibility, accountability, and strategic thinking skills.
• Shows advanced focus on customer satisfaction and sound decision-making capabilities.
• Works effectively within team environments.

Employment Details and Regulatory Compliance

This position is designated as a Controlled Function (CF6) under the Senior Executive Accountability Regime (SEAR) and is subject to regulatory oversight, including Fitness and Probity assessments and adherence to Conduct Standards. The role is strictly non-managerial.

Work Arrangement

Travelers Europe currently supports a hybrid working model where employees work three days on-site in Dublin and two days remotely weekly, subject to company policy changes.
