About the Role
This position is for a meticulous and seasoned Civil Inspector who can monitor daily construction-site activities and make sure all civil works align with approved designs, quality expectations, and safety rules. The role is practical and site-based, requiring someone who can work closely with contractors and consultants, keep work moving steadily, and help deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine site checks across civil activities such as earthworks, concrete works, formwork, masonry, and finishing tasks.
- Confirm that work is being performed in line with approved drawings, inspection test plans, and method statements.
- Observe and verify on-site material testing and other quality-control checks.
- Review incoming materials to ensure they match approved submittals and project requirements.
- Monitor the correct storage and handling of civil construction materials.
- Assess workmanship and flag any defects or quality gaps for correction.
- Keep inspection records, site observation notes, and daily progress reports updated.
- Identify non-compliances and track corrective actions through to closure.
- Support the creation of snag lists and punch lists.
- Liaise with the Senior Civil Engineer, QA/QC Engineer, and contractor teams to coordinate site work.
- Follow up on rework and verify that corrective measures have been completed properly.
- Help confirm finished quantities and completed works for billing and payment certification.
- Escalate unsafe activities and work with HSE personnel to reinforce site safety measures.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in site supervision or civil inspection on construction projects.
- A Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Strong familiarity with civil engineering standards, construction methods, construction materials, and quality-control practices.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations.
