N MOLE is a student organization established in 2016 at Alexandria University by engineering students, aimed at bridging theoretical academics with practical industry experience. The group emphasizes project-based learning covering the design, manufacturing, and operation of real industrial equipment prototypes. It mentors summer projects focused on chemical and mechanical engineering, hosts annual seminars led by industry experts, and offers development opportunities to its volunteers to enhance both their technical and soft skills. The organization has engaged hundreds of students from various universities, providing them hands-on exposure to industrial processes. N MOLE plans to extend its summer projects and competitions internationally to benefit engineering students beyond Egypt.

Role Overview

The Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) is a full-time, fully remote leadership position responsible for crafting and implementing N MOLE’s long-term strategic vision and fostering growth. Responsibilities involve leading strategic initiatives, prioritizing organizational goals, and aligning projects, events, and partnerships with the core mission. Daily tasks include market and stakeholder research, business and operational planning, evaluating new programs and partnerships, managing resources with department heads, tracking performance data, risk oversight, supporting financial sustainability, and representing the organization in high-level engagements with partners, sponsors, and institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning efforts defining long-term objectives and developing practical roadmaps.
• Perform market and stakeholder analyses to inform organizational direction.
• Create and oversee business and operational plans to support growth and impact.
• Evaluate potential collaborations, programs, and funding prospects thoroughly.
• Collaborate with executive and department leaders to optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.
• Monitor performance indicators and adjust strategies based on data-driven insights.
• Manage organizational risks and contribute to financial sustainability initiatives.
• Engage as a representative in negotiations and discussions with academic, industry, and funding partners.

Required Qualifications

• Proficient in strategic and business planning with the ability to translate organizational goals into actionable initiatives.
• Strong analytical aptitude to interpret data, assess risks, and underpin sound decision-making.
• Good understanding of financial management, budgeting, and resource distribution within non-profit or student organizations.
• Executive leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and align organizational activities.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation abilities.
• Experience in strategic or leadership roles in student organizations, non-profit groups, or start-ups; education in engineering, business, or related fields is advantageous.
• Capable of thriving in a remote, diverse work environment demonstrating adaptability, integrity, and inclusiveness.
• Bachelor’s degree or current studies in Engineering, Business, Management, or similar; advanced qualifications in strategy or leadership are a plus.
