Position Overview

The Chief Financial & Strategy Officer (CFO) will steer the financial operations, capital allocation, and corporate growth initiatives of BioUrja Group. Acting as a strategic partner to the executive team, the CFO ensures financial discipline while fostering expansion through mergers and acquisitions, investments, partnerships, and operational enhancements. This role is accountable for managing the full capital deployment lifecycle—from assessment to execution and integration—with a focus on generating enterprise-wide value.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Direct all financial functions including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audits.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and maintain robust internal controls.
• Oversee cash flow management, liquidity planning, and mitigation of financial risks.
• Lead the group's capital deployment strategies across acquisitions, internal growth projects, and operational investments.
• Assess portfolio performance, recommending strategic moves such as acquisitions, divestitures, or restructurings.
• Manage comprehensive M&A activities: sourcing deals, financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, negotiation, and closing.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize 45Z and transferable tax credits, environmental incentives, and related programs through structuring, monetization, and investments.
• Negotiate and execute strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and investment opportunities.
• Oversee post-acquisition integration, including tracking synergies and realizing value.
• Create integration playbooks and define KPIs to monitor ongoing financial and operational results.
• Collaborate with operations leadership to appraise capital expenditures, debottlenecking, and asset optimization projects.
• Lead cross-departmental teams to achieve strategic goals.
• Maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, advisors, and industry partners.
• Present financial and strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Utilize AI and advanced analytics to improve financial modeling, forecasting, and investment decisions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics plus an MBA, CPA, or CFA certification.
• Over 15 years' experience in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or corporate development-related fields.
• Extensive knowledge of oil and gas markets, capital formation, tax-advantaged investments, renewable fuel incentives, and energy financing transactions.
• Proven expertise leading complex financial operations and managing strategic deals.
• Experience within energy, commodities, or trading sectors is highly preferred.
• Advanced capabilities in financial modeling, valuation, capital allocation, and strategic analysis.
• Strong leadership skills with a history of managing cross-functional teams to deliver results.
• High business acumen combined with negotiation and deal execution proficiency.
• Adept at balancing strategic vision with detailed execution in dynamic environments.
• Experience leveraging artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to enhance financial and strategic decision-making.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence executive decision-makers.
