Our client is an established retail and wholesale organization with multiple locations around the New York region. Known for its strong reputation and loyal clientele, the company is poised for its next phase of expansion and seeks an experienced and practical Chief Financial Officer to join the executive leadership team.

This high-visibility role requires a CFO who acts as a genuine business partner to the CEO and senior leadership, driving operational excellence, enhancing profitability, and supporting long-term growth efforts.

Position Overview

The CFO will provide both strategic financial guidance and handle day-to-day operational financial responsibilities. This person will convert financial data into actionable insights, strengthen financial controls and reporting, and collaborate closely with operations to enhance overall company performance.

Success in this role comes from being actively involved businesswise, fostering interdepartmental collaboration, and establishing scalable financial processes without compromising the company's people-oriented culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Devise and implement the financial strategy to enable sustained growth.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to boost profitability and optimize operational performance.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and long-term planning activities.
• Provide comprehensive financial analysis to inform business decisions.
• Assess capital expenditures and significant business ventures.
• Enhance internal controls, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop improved KPI reporting, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Manage contract negotiations and maintain key vendor relationships.
• Coach and nurture the finance and accounting teams.
• Forge robust partnerships with operations and other departmental leaders.

Qualifications

Required:

• Over 10 years of advancing experience in finance leadership roles.
• Previous or current roles such as CFO, VP of Finance, Corporate Controller, or equivalent senior financial executive.
• Strong expertise in retail or multi-location consumer businesses.
• Proven track record leading budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and business analytics.
• Experience working closely with operational management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

• Background with privately held or family-owned enterprises.
• Advanced capabilities in financial modeling and Excel.
• Experience driving process enhancements and establishing scalable financial infrastructures.
